Alaskans For Language Acquisition
Dear Sir or Madame,
“The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.”
Alaskans for Language Acquisition (AFLA) agree with Ludwig Wittgenstein. As Alaska’s statewide organization of world language educators, we are dedicated to promoting the understanding of world cultures through the study of world languages and pushing the limits of what is possible.
In this era of global conflict and division, American’s youth must be given the opportunity to learn a variety of languages from an early age. Both competition and collaboration in worldwide business, diplomatic and economic playing fields are enhanced when the players are proficient in more than one language.
AFLA hosts an annual conference which affords world language educators, Kindergarten through University, the chance to engage in meaningful exploration of best practices, to hear from nationally recognized presenters, and to learn of technological advances in classroom pedagogy. Teachers in Alaska cannot always afford to attend conferences outside the state--AFLA brings experts to us!
We invite you to assist us in bringing the best and the brightest to this year’s conference. Through your generous sponsorship world language educators may enhance their teaching repertoire and continue to push the limits of our students’ future participation in the global economy.
Thank you very much for your consideration. Enclosed you will find a description of our Sponsorship levels and the benefits they include. You may also access this information on our official website: www.afla-alaska.org
We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Michele Whaley
AFLA President
